What’s up webfolk? The previous post for the photography blog was talking about picking your next photo project from the perspective of an amatuer photographer. Well my wife decided to go with a local class to expand her skills and then decide from there as to what project she will try and tackle next.
In the spirit of amatuer photography I wanted to share a cool new camera that I saw on web the other day and one that we will be getting for our family before our next trip. It’s called the Samsung 2View camera and it really is a stroke of genius if you ask me. What is the one move that we all do when we want to take a picture and be in it at the same time? The old arms length away camera shot of course and thankfully because we have digital picture playback now we can see instantly how far off our aim was and try again.
That’s were the beauty of this camera steps in, there is a view screen on the front of the camera! Yes finally a camera that addresses that amateur photographer move that we have all done at one time or another. Finally I will be able to see myself and my wife in the shot before I actually take the shot and perhaps even better than that will be the ability to vlog with a real camera that I can afford as well. Taking a video log of our trips is something I have taken a liking to as a type of family video to look back on years from now. Granted they are not something that will be going viral on the Youtube anytime soon but it will be nice to be able to actually see what I am recording as I am doing it.
All that stuff was sounding good to me until I started to do a bit of research and see that if it sounds and looks to good to be true that it probably is. Like I said I love the concept of this camera but unfortunately it looks like Samsung has packaged the idea in a rather cheaply made camera. A quick read through of some of the customer reviews on various sites and you will find out that there are a lot of reports of black lines appearing on the back LCD screen pretty frequently. My hope is that they address this issue and upgrade the camera on the next go around or perhaps my favorite camera company Canon can include a similar feature in one of their next cameras. Regardless of that I hope that this is just the beginning of the 2view camera concept and we see more of these in the future because it just makes sense. Check out the video of the Samsung 2view just to get an idea what the concept should work like.
Kudos to you peruser ![]()
